Plagiarism Policy
Biospectrum Horizons: A Journal of Life Science Research (JASLSRI) follows a strict
zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened
for originality using advanced plagiarism detection tools such as
Turnitin / iThenticate prior to peer review.
Acceptable Similarity Index
- Total similarity must not exceed 10–15%, excluding references and commonly used phrases.
- Similarity beyond the permitted threshold will result in revision or rejection.
Unacceptable Forms of Plagiarism
- Verbatim copying of text, ideas, or data without proper citation.
- Self-plagiarism or redundant publication of previously published work.
- Manipulation or reuse of figures, images, or data without attribution.
- Translation plagiarism or paraphrasing without acknowledgment.
Editorial Action on Plagiarism Detection
- Detected before publication: Immediate rejection of the manuscript.
- Detected after publication: Retraction of the article and notification of the author’s institution.
Ethical Compliance
- JASLSRI adheres to UGC and COPE publication ethics guidelines.
- Authors must submit a signed plagiarism declaration during manuscript submission.
- Ethical violations may result in blacklisting of authors.
Author Responsibility
Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their work.
Proper citation of all sources, including previously published material,
is mandatory. Ignorance of plagiarism rules is not considered an excuse.
